Might be because they interfered with my spyder software (see note above) They should work in theory but I had limited success with locking the profile. Note: use only one color profile program, they might interfere with each other Here are some other programs that prevent 3d fullscreen applications from overriding the profile: Easiest method is using a hardware calibration device such as the Spyder4pro that comes with software to do this. There are third party applications that can prevent this.

See here for details on how to activate Win7 LUT management:Īs I sad earlier, most Fullscreen Applications will override this.īorderless windowed, this is a Window that looks exactly like fullscreen since border are removed and it covers the entier screen. This can be done using a third party "LUT-Loader" or through Windows color management. You will also need to load the LUT table into your GPU. This is essentially the same post as in the Blur reduction forums.Įdit: I almost forgot (since I am using Spyder Software that does this) that it is not enough to select the color profile. White Point 6500K, gamma 2.2 (target) as usual. In the OSD I have set contrast to 50 for the best picture. It uses a white point of 6500K and gamma of 2.2 (target).

It is a color profile I created a while ago with the Spyder Pro for Lightboost.

Question for you.I have had this monitor for quite some time and I only recently thought about sharing this: Hello Mfait.I've got the one monitor calibrated B:12, C:68.tuned in exactly to the 120 requirement. They as your monitor ages turn, start turning up the contrast until it reaches 75, then start turning up the brightness. Try this and let us now how low you had to set the contrast to reach your target. I've seen people state that the brightness is not well controlled if you go below 10. They get darker as they age and the brightness needs to be turned up.Īssuming that you not reaching your target is not affected by software you should set to B:10 and lower your contrast until you reach your target. When the monitor was new I started at about B:15 & C75. I am currently at about B:40 & C:75 for a target of 120. I have the monitor manually set at B:15, and C:75. As mentioned above, the target is 107, my current is 145.7.

If you are making some changes through software, maybe they are being reset somehow during calibration process.Ĭan you please let me know what your manual settings are? I have also tried to manually adjust it, but due to the large difference between target and current, I cannot adjust the brightness down far enough. I don't make any adjustments through any software. Then I let Spyder software complete the calibration. I also adjust the RGB sliders manually on the monitor to reach the proper color balance target (or whatever it's called). I only adjust brightness and contrast manually on the monitor to get to my target luminance. I have Spyder 4 Elite with an Nvidia card and a Dell 22" IPS monitor, and I don't have any such issues. As it stands, even though my monitors are identical, they look nothing alike.Īs an FYI, both monitors are using a DVI cable. Hopefully, someone can help me figure this out. It indicated I should get within 4% of target. Right now my target is 107 - my current is 145.7. Each time I click "Update" in the DataColor software it takes my screen back to the brightness it "appeared" to be prior to the adjustments and the cd/m drops very slightly. I've started with B:35 C:75 and worked my way down to B:15. I have a Nvidia card where I also adjust the backlight and manually on the monitor adjust it. I adjust and adjust, but nothing changes. I get to the point where it wants me to adjust the backlight control. I have attempting to calibrate to Asus monitors, same model, but I seem to be having problems.
